Maria Vittoria Diamanti (ORCID ID: orcid.org/0000-0003-4785-2473) is Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” of Politecnico di Milano. She teaches Science and technology of materials for Chemical Engineering students and durability of cementitious materials for Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology students. She is in charge of the Ombudsperson office of Politecnico di Milano and vice-coordinator of the Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology study programme. Her research interests are related to materials for environmental remediation, mostly titanium dioxide, produced electrochemically or by sol-gel method, and to metals corrosion and protection. She is author of more than 90 articles on international Journals (h-index 30), editor of 3 books, academic editor of 2 international Journals and guest editor of 5 special issues on international Journals.

Professor Salman is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics at SCE and an internationally recognized expert in biophotonics and medical diagnostics, specializing in infrared/Raman spectroscopy, machine learning-enhanced diagnostics, and antimicrobial resistance detection. His pioneering research focuses on developing rapid, spectroscopy-based diagnostic tools for differentiating bacterial and viral infections and detecting antibiotic-resistant pathogens. With extensive international collaborations, he leads EU-funded projects with European partners (Germany, France, Netherlands) on sepsis diagnostics and AMR surveillance, NIH-funded projects with US institutions, and translational research with Israeli medical centers. A prolific academic leader supervises 5 PhD and 6 MSc students, holds a US patent (2023/0386662 A1) for microbial detection technology, serves on editorial boards, and reviews for top journals including Nature Communications and Analytical Chemistry. His work has been recognized with the 2022 SCE Excellence in Interdisciplinary Research Award, driving innovations in point-of-care infection screening.

Shtefan Viktoriia is a Research Scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden-IFW (Germany, Institute for Materials Chemistry) and a Professor at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" (Ukraine, Department of Technical Electrochemistry). She earned her initial PhD degree from the latter institution in 2005 and was awarded a second, higher doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing. habil.) in 2019. Her research encompasses key areas of applied electrochemistry, focusing on advanced surface engineering techniques. These include the anodic and micro-arc oxidation of valve metals and their alloys, the cathodic deposition of corrosion-resistant and electrocatalytically active metals and alloys (particularly with refractory metals), and the development of conversion and composite coatings. Since joining IFW-Dresden, her work has centered on the electrochemical behavior and processing of metallic glass alloys. This research, conducted over the past three years, aims to synthesize functional materials for biomedical applications and to develop catalytic materials for green energy technologies. She has contributed to scientific literature as a co-author of peer-reviewed articles, patents, and book chapters.

Dr. Tugba Akkas Boynuegri began her professional career in 2009 and has over ten years of industrial R&D experience at Eti Maden, a global leader in boron production located in Turkey, where she worked on boron-based chemical research and development. I currently work as a researcher for Mexico at the Center for Research in Applied Chemistry (SECIHTI-CIQA) in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. My training has focused primarily on the synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced materials for water regeneration, as well as the application of innovative technologies for the detection and quantification of environmental pollutants. Thanks to my research stays abroad—in Europe (Complutense University of Madrid and Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain) and South America (University of Valle de Cali, Colombia)—I have the skills and experience to establish scientific, academic, and industrial collaborations. These have resulted in my leadership of projects, where I have served as the technical lead. During my postdoctoral fellowship at the Water Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, I collaborated on research projects with industry and mentored graduate students, social service providers, and interns. I have also participated in and led national and international academic and industrial events, directed scientific projects with a socio-environmental focus, written scientific articles, and supervised graduate and undergraduate theses. I have given more than 50 lectures on technological and environmental topics at the national and international levels. Furthermore, I have experience in the fields of social impact entrepreneurship and technological innovation; this experience has been gained through workshops, courses, and technological innovation competitions, as well as through the development of project dossiers and summaries, elevator pitches, networking , marketing, and business plans.

Philippe C. Hiberty is an Emeritus Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche scientifique at the University of Paris-Saclay (France). He also taught Quantum Chemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique Graduate School in Palaiseau from 1996 to 2007. His early research projects were devoted to build bridges between Molecular Orbital (MO) Theory and Valence Bond (VB) Theory, by devising a method to get the weights of Lewis structures for molecules, starting from MO ab initio calculations. He then started a collaboration with Professor Sason Shaik in 1984, to provide some firm computational basis to Shaik’s VB-based reactivity model. He is the originator of the Breathing-Orbital VB ab initio computational method, aimed at providing very compact VB wave functions approaching chemical accuracy. He now uses this method in applications of quantum chemistry and VB theory to fundamental concepts of organic chemsitry and photochemistry. He received the Grand Prix Philippe A. Guye from the French Academy of Sciences in 2002. He is author of 193 publications in international journals or books (h-index-56).
